I recently picked up a six pack of Breckinridge Vanilla Porter. I was surprised at the good flavor of this brew. It says on the bottle that it used real vanilla beans, and you can definitely tell with the sweet aftertaste of vanilla. It is not overpowering and does not take away from the good flavor of this ale. It would be good even without the vanilla, but that gives it a very unique taste.I had two of these the night I bought them, and that was all I could handle. It is a very heavy beer, but very enjoyable. I highly recommend this if you have not tried a darker beer. It might just win you over and soon you will be drinking Guiness!
